Looking for a Machine shop in NJ

Just bought a flathead off another member and I've been calling machine shops in the area. Eddie's Performance is one of the only ones who got back to me saying that hey could do flathead work. Was hoping that someone here would know something about this shop or have another suggestion of a shop...

    Question about Flathead City

Thanks, I'll check them out. I just bought a '51 8BA from a member over on the HAMB so I'll be going the rebuild route and looking for parts. I guess once I pick the flatty up on Sunday, my build will officially begin, now I just need a chasis, cab, bed, and on and on and on.:D

    Yes another welder ?

If you look at some of the welding specific forums they talk a lot about Eastwood with mixed reviews. There is always a guy named Matt from Eastwood or some variation and he claims that their welders are not made by or copies of anyone. But he has admitted to them being made in China to their...

    Yes another welder ?

Thanks for all the replys guys. I think too much research my be a bad thing in my case, now I'm looking at the Miller 211 (I think) due to the duel power usage (110/220). It's quite a jump in price but may be worth it down the road. Thanks again for the input.

    Yes another welder ?

Blue Eyed Devil, how much of a difference does the "infinite" settings style dial for the amps on the Miller vs the pre-determined amp settings one Hobart make?

    Yes another welder ?

I'm going to pick up my first welder and I'm thinking of the Millermatic 140. Any thoughts guys? Probably won't do much but scrap metal until my buddy says I've got a good enough handle on it to start on body panels. I was almost drawn to the Eastwood but figured I'd wait, save my pennies and...

    Question about Flathead City

Gastrick, thanks for the info. I personally like the look of yours much better than the flashy version next to it. Mind if I ask how it runs on open roads? I commute about 50 miles one way and would like to build something that can make the trip on occasion.

    Question about Flathead City

Thanks for the info guys, I understand the lack of HP you can pull out of them. Still love the look. Gastrick, that engine is gorgeous! Are the Navaro heads worth the cost over Offy's or Edelbrock?

    Question about Flathead City

Wow, thanks for the heads up. That's not a lot of go for that much dough . I got an email back from the flathead city guys but not from H&H yet. Guess it can't hurt to talk to them and see what they say. It's good to know what your up against first though. Thanks for the comment.

    Question about Flathead City

Any of you guys have any experience with the guys at Flathead City or H & H Flatheads? I'm looking at them for a complete engine or a block that I know isn't webbed with all the cracks that those overheating b@stards are prone too. Was hoping that someone could shed some light on their...

1930 model a pickup rat build

Thanks for the info man, looks like the header is close to the frame so I agree that trying to fab a mount that moves the engine up a little will be perfect. Good luck and keep the updates coming.

1930 model a pickup rat build

Sweet ride man, I'm that special kind of "kick you in the b@lls" jealous[dr! Pretty much what I'm planning so I can't wait to see the finished product. What did you need to do to get the flatty in there? Anything you learned finding it that you wish you knew prior? Semper Fi

my new build 30s style truck

Hey man, love the cab. Do you have contact info on that Fab shop. I'm planning out a similar build and that might be a good route. Subscribing so I can see the finished truck, and poach a few ideas! Keep up the good work. Semper Fi

Hello all, I'm new to the site and hobby. I've been wrenching on cars and bikes with the help of patient friends for a long time now but I'm currently in the planning/budget phase of a Model A pick up. Hoping to use a flathead in it right now. I've had great success with the HDFORUMS and have...
