Fixed up the tail lights - I only had 1 cracked original lens and a broken bezel - since finding good replacements is like searching for unobtanium, I came up with a compromise. [;) Trimmed about 1/2" off the ends of the housings and welded in 33-6 Ford repop tail light housings to mount lenses and bezels from the same. Also welded up the plate mount holes and the license light hole on the drivers side.

I beat the worst dents out of the rear fenders and welded up a few cracks, mounted them up and rolled it out for some daylight pics, it's nice to stand back and get a better look at it - and blow the dust out of the garage.......

Get the fedora and the tommy gun out, getting close to cruising time. The look is perfect.

Thanks man, cruising is a long way off yet, lots of fab work to do :(. It's definitely an inspiration to see it out in the light tho..:) Funny how chopped early 30's cars still seem to evoke the 'gangster' feeling...

wow.. it looks really awesome.. it looks mean sitting still, so it will definitely be a head turner cursing down the road...

Damn that thing is big! It makes that caddy motor look small (not easy to do).

I can't wait to see this beast parked next to a model A at a show.

Yeah, it's a whale all right :D. The wheelbase is 124" (shortened from 136" !!), when the front fenders are on I only have one foot of room in front of it when the garage door is closed. At least it won't get mistaken for a 34 Chevy...

Another of my Pick n Pull scores, cut the gas lid/filler neck out of a Pontiac Transport minivan and grafted it into the side of the Caddy. the pipe will be covered by the interior panels.

I decided to take a stab at making a custom rear bumper from materials on hand. 3" pipe, a 2" mandrel bend I cut up for the plate surround and some 1/8" plate to back the license plate. 1/4" x 2 " bar make up the mount brackets that bolt to tabs on the frame.

The backside piece is welded in place with 4 tabs that are part of the outside skin, then glued on the backside as you can see. This is how it was attached in the minivan it came from.

I keep waiting for you to do something I don't like. I ain't gonna happen. Nice work on the bumper and filler.

Thanks guys ! Moving back up front, I did some crossbreeding of parts by mounting the Ford PS pump to the Cad engine. The mount looked a little chunky so I got busy with the drill press, couldn't stop myself, swiss cheesed the low mount I made for the alternator too.
I made a big blunder by tossing out the original core support (red arrow), thinking it wouldn't fit to the G body front crossmember - it locates the front fenders and the grille and to boot I didn't make measurements of it or reference it to the firewall.:mad::(
Now I'll have to position the grille by getting the hood lined up and straight, no small feat as I'm missing the original center bar that joins the hood halves. More mystery fab work to go.......

Doh! I feel for ya, it was hard enough to get my front clip lined up with the support. I did have to hack it all up to get around the power steering ox on the G-body frame. With your eye, you'll get it right easy enough though.
