ok im new to the rat rod scene, i just bought my buick and im needing some ideas for door panels i was thinking old records and plexi glass and no carpet, i also hav an ooga horn, dummy lights and the bullets for the front, im needing to know what type color of scallops but here is some pics after we started, i also forgot i have the skirtsand its lowered

thanks guys, im trying to decide to bag it or just keep it simple, i dont want to gangster it out i wanna keep it low budget, but i have found a set of bags dirt cheap. i have to install alot of parts still. i love this car i have been building hondas forever and i just got the bug, thanks to some good looking classics.

Here is one I had about 10 years ago (another one I should have kept). It went to a guy in the central part of Pennsylvania, and I lost track of it until two years ago...it came up for sale on that "Traditional" board...for almost ten times what I sold it for, so any hope of getting it back went out the window.

It had the stock straight 8 in it when I got it (and when I sold it) that ran great, but the interior had some of that 60's / 70's zebra stripe covering...fortunately the mice and other critters had pretty much chewed up the remains. I had a 89 Cadillac that I swapped the seats from to the Buick. I filled the hood, and angle cut some tubing and welded them into the port holes. Other then that I just drove it. When I sold it, it still had the original black paint (or something close to the original paint). One of the subsequent owners did the flat and flames..........like I said, should have never sold it...but shoulda coulda woulda

Dang! Those are some nice lookin' '53s!!! Glad to see there's other '53 Buick guys on here. Here's some pics of my '53 Special "work-in-progress". The straight-8's locked up, and is being parted out, so if anyone with a running straight-8 needs any spare parts, let me know. Body mods are gonna' be subtle...maybe a little nosing and decking, a pair of spotlights, lakepipes, custom-made spider-web skirts...paint is gonna' be suede black and with blood red pinstriping on the outside, and gloss-black and blood red on the inside. Might do a blood-red metalflake on the roof. Interior will be custom EZBoy. Driveline mods: removing the straight-8, 3-speed tranny, and torque-tube rear and replacing them with a 1970 Olds 455 Rocket, TH-400 tranny, and a narrowed 12-bolt rear from a '67 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup with 3.73 gears.
