I grew up listening to my father’s hot rod stories and attending car shows. Now we have a chance to stop talking and start building! Our first project together is a 1954 Ford F100 with the original 223 Straight 6 and 3 on the tree. We purchased it for $500 from a friend who started and abandoned the build 7 years ago. We plan to keep the original engine, media blast the body, repair the rot and paint it a flat color. I am excited to get started but have a couple questions. Thanks!

1. Which is the best restoration book for finding original parts?

2. Which websites/catalogues are recommended to buy parts.

Pictures of how we found it. He kept it in the barn you see falling down in the background. Motor turns by hand but carb is stuck.

Check out LMC Trucks catalogues for parts. Also Speedway.
Looks like a good truck to start with.[cl
Good luck on your project and keep the pic's coming as you progress.

Thanks for the links. We want to keep the engine for now if we can make it run. Dad thinks it is missing a starter solenoid and the wiring is all rigged right now. I thought a book might help us work that out.
