I had recently bought a 50 chevy fleetline with a 216.The engine turned over fine by hand and i replaced the plug's, wire's,point's 6v battery, and the brush's in the starter at first it was dragging really bad and would not start.So i replaced the brush's and it turn's alot better , but now im getting no spark before i was getting spark and now nothing, i dont even have juice to the battery any suggestions?

Recheck all of your wires and test for voltage at the distributor and coil. I have a different engine in my '42 Chevy (Olds 350), but I replaced the points with a Pertronix unit that converts to electronic ignition. This worked great for me and was only like $80 I think. Make sure you have the points adjusted right or that they haven't moved.
