Fire Truck

Finally back at it. Need some opinions. Does the engine need to be higher? Should I raise the frame rails higher in the front? Should I sink the engine back into the firewall some? Tell me what you think. Thanks.

Since you asked, yes. The engine sits too low. You can z the frame, for the best results.
If you sink the engine into the fire wall, you take away from room inside the already too small cab. I like the back of the block to be an inch of so in front of the fire wall.

Update and pics on the project

Hey guys,

Finally got some time to work on the truck. Worked out that I am going to run the radiator in the bed. Here are some pics.

Kinda thinking now I will lightly scuff the exterior and clearcoat it. Sandblast and paint the interior, frame, engine etc fire engine red. Whatcha think?

Kinda up in the air about a 3" chop also.

Agree with Zing the front and get the engine down.
The whole thing is coming along great!!!
Chop it only 3"s?
This from a guy without a top:rolleyes:

Ya have to raise the engine some I can see. I don't want to channel the cab however. It is sitting on the frame rails now. I am 6'2" and want to be comfy in this rig. I was told a 3" top chop would be about right.

Received my triangulated 4 link kit yesterday, today I picked up the mount points for the radius rods. Stripped the 9" yesterday, we be a jigging soon......
