I got the R&P bracket ground down today to fit the profile of the axle.

Had to roll it outside and take a couple more pic's.

Ok guys and gals, let me know what you think about this look.

Started playing around with the frontend today and came up with this.:D Should I lower the headlights or leave them where they are now?
I think by lowering them it will make the frontend look lower. [S

Still got to make the shroud for the grille shell. I think I finally got the shell bent in the right shape after cutting and bending and cutting some more and tacking and cutting the tacks lose and cutting some more and benting some more. Man I'm getting tired just typing all that......:D

Yall let me know.

Well I went ahead and cut the headlight mounts down to two inches and made a cardboard templete for the shroud today.

Kinda like this better.

Also got the sword made and welded in the shell.

There's not a big difference in the pictures so you will have to look close to see the changes.

Thanks AW, I like them better that way too.

You need to get some pictures up on your build. I have this need to see things go together........[dr:D

Built the grille shroud this afternoon. All I need to get now to finish it and get it primed is the wire mesh for the background.

[P I received my radius rods from Lahr's Speed and Custom Fabrications on Thursday and started mounting them Friday night. Finished up the mounts today and got everything lined up. [;)

Want to give Fuzz a shout out for walking me through the set up of the rods. Thanks dude!!!:)

Boy they make big difference in the stiftness of the front end. After putting the engine and tranny back in it should settle down about around inch or so......I hope[S

Let see what else have I done this week??? Oh yeah, primed the grille shell.[cl

Anyway here's a couple of pic's to bring ya up to speed.

Enjoy

I will get some pics up at some point. right now, as 52fordman can attest too, its just a pile of rust. a big one at that.

now to ask a newb question, why would the radius arms cause the hight to change?

Hey AW,

I'm not sure the rods have anything to do with a heigth change. I believe the change came when I removed the motor and trans. I am guessing it will settle back to where it was when I put both back in.

Looking forward to seeing your build pic's when you get them posted.

Finished up the grille shell this morning and thought I would post a couple of the pic's.

I used 1/4" wire mesh screen for the background on the shell. First I cut it oversized and used wireties to secure it to the shell and keep the screen inline with the insignia. Then trimmed and crimped the edges around the inner lip of the shell a little at a time while checking to make sure the screen didnt move and get out of line. After finishing the screen background I primed the whole thing in flat black.

I'm please with the results.:D What yall think?

No turning back now, she's toppist. [cl Kinda like the look too.

It's only roughed in at the moment but she should look alot better after the final trim. [cl

Yall let me know what cha think and any comments and suggestions would be welcome.

Now I'm not sure if I want to chop the windshield or put a visor on it and leave it at that??[S

thanks,
Larry

I think you need to chop the posts maybe 4 inches or so. I like the curve you've got around the back. What would you think about cutting the top of the windshield off and running streight glass across the top, no frame?? Just a thought, you could put a contrasting color tape on it to let you know how it might look.

Thanks Rainman. I don't know, after setting the seats in place, the windshield really need to stay where it's at. I may put a visor on soon but I have just about decided against chopping the windshield. Kinda like the tall look too.[dr

Got started boxing in the rear part of the cab tonight. Hopefully I can get the windshield frame done too this weekend if I don't run out of gas for the welder first.[;)

Anyway here's a couple of pic's of what I have done so far.

Got the rear part of the cab capped [cl and started on the windshield post. Had to do some rebuilding on this part. [S

The pinchweld around the frame was shot and kinda wanted a place for the windshield rubber to fit.:D The left post had major rust problems, rights not as bad but its need repairing also.[;)

Heres a few pic's.[P

Nice work RC. It's amazing what we will save to create a hot rod. Your roadster is going to be some kind of cool!

I wouldn't chop the window either. Might think about leaning it back about 4" at the top? Just a thought. Looks good as is though. :)
