Studebaker used the same basic body from 47-52. The coupes included the most common starlight version with 4 rear window panels, the more rare business coupe had a shorter top and only 2 rear window panels. For some the business coupe is something of an acquired taste. The 47-49 frames lend themselves well to front suspension upgrades such as mustang 2 since they have realitively straight front frame sections. The 50 and later frames have coil spring pockets stamped into them. Here are a couple pics of my 48 convertible on which I used 50 fenders front and rear as well as a 50 hood and 51 tail lights. If you consider going to the bullet nose (50 & 51) front group be aware that the wheel base increased in 1950, so the front suspension would need to located further ahead for the tire to be centered in the wheel opening.
