I had a 57 with a stick shift once. I can't really help but I did see an ad in CarCraft a couple years ago from a company that could mate a 700R4 to almost anything.

www.transmissionadapters.com they are the best. Also Wilcap.,Tr Waters and Paw all make them but I have used bendtsens several times with great luck. Look up his website and you'll see the quality. TP

Yeah, Bendtsens isn't cheap, but his kits do allow you to mate a modern tranny like a turbo 350 or 400 to the Olds engines. I think I may go that route when I work on my Dodge truck again, it has a 394 Olds in it and I am not nuts about the original Olds tranny

He also has a kit to allow you to put a stick tranny behind one of these.

update...i have everything i need but the 371 olds flywheel. i see the kits have one but my thing is to build my cars on a budget. does any one have a 176 tooth olds flywheel for sale or trade???
