Well.... here goes nuthin'! I came across a rust bucket that has been farm use for at least 10 years and probably closer to 20 years! it is a bit rough, has a long bed and is a 4x4. The good news is I found a 283 under the hood! So, $300.00 later, I finally have a rat rod project! After getting it home, I commenced to pressure washing, vacuuming and then pulled out the cutting torch. I already have a '79 Chevy shortbed rolling chassis lined up that has already been sandblasted, painted and has 3 1/2" dropped spindles on its disc brake front end! My goal is to get the engine, cab and front clip on the new frame as soon as possible and be streetable so I do side work to further fund the project! The guys on the Chevy truck site seem to be ready for the long bed frame and 4x4 setup to hit the parts for sale listings...
Not sure if that would be a NAPCO conversion or true GM 4X4 but either way that's a rare truck! If you go through with your late model short bed plans don't "give that stuff away" ........might be able to finance a big part of the project with it. Welcome to RRR and good luck with your build.
