I would like to beef up the rear suspension in my 59 Galaxie and use it for pulling a vintage camper. However after having the car out of the garage, yes it fired right up in the below zero weather, I was impressed, I am finding the rear suspension just cannot handle the tongue weight of the trailer.

The car sits level all the way around, I just think the leaf springs really arent enough to do the job. Is it possible to add some air bags to the rear end to increase its payload capacity? If so, who makes a good set that would work for what I want to do? I dont want to add any more springs to the rear as it already rides like a lumber wagon on a washboard road. Any help is appreciated.

my dad has helpers on his 46 ford these are the bags he has

the first bracket goes between the leaf and the axel and are kept in place with the pin and u bolts and the other just bolts to the frame and the bag goes between the two it works great for my dad but he does not tow with his car but i think it should still work for you
