Are you having any problems? If it's too much pressure the carb will overflow.

That sounds about right. The Q-jet on my car won't tolerate over 4 lbs & will overflow like a river without a pressure regulator. I say... if it ain't broke...

I run 2 x 4's on my panel and run 6 psi. I have edelbrock carbs with progressive linkage. 12 seems a little much but if your carb is not overflowing or the engine flooding then try it and see what it does. See how much it drops at WOT. Also I have an electric in tank pump and adjustable regulator.

i had a fuel pressure guage on mine until i recently swapped carbs.....

a 350 chevy, w/ "parts master" brand mechanical pump, 10 psi....which i personally thought was about 4 psi too much, but didn't have any noticable problems
