Anyone seen one of these?

I recently acquired a spare gas tank like this? I have never seen one . It is for the spare tire area.

Can't say I have ever seen one like that, but then again I live in the woods under a rock in a van down by the river.

That is really cool! I have no interest in mounting a 'spare' on the rear of my coupe, but I would definetly mount that because it is so unique. I would also have to install a hefty rear bumper in case of a collision.

I think where the spare went on a 40's Chevy car, but am not sure. It is cool though.

I am not seeing a use for it for mine, I just am not sure what it would be worth. It is a unique looking piece.

if you could find another one, then you could have duel tanks. One on each fender mount. That thing is awesome, never seen a tank like that.

If I am correct, they were an aftermarket tank that mounted in the front fenders where the tire would go. Or at the back. Problem is back then you would have 2 flats if you were traveling about 200 miles. Most people had 2 or 3 spare tires on the back.
