This is a '92 Davey Allison #28 Havoline car - or will be when the guys are done with it.

And this is the Davey Allison car in the showroom - one of the only Chevys ever driven by the Allison family

looks like lots of fun. im not big into Nascar (due to to lack of right turns lol) but building a car would be a cool experience for anybody

Wow
Thanks for the pictures....I grew up watching my hero Richard Petty and then once he kinda lost his edge I would follow the underdogs like JD McDuffie and Jimmy Means (etals) and the most successful underdog of all times was (IMO) Alan Kulwicki. He died on 4/1/93...hence my screen name. Racing is like an addiction..kinda hard to shake thats for sure....I still run roundy rounds when I get time in the summer. Those pictures you posted brought that tragic 1993 NASCAR season back in an instant.
Looks like an awesome shop to boot.

I know what you mean about the 93 season. Davey and Alan were my favored, and on July 11 1993 I got to meet Davey in person and got his autograph. To here about his death two day later really got to me.

Davey Allison was (IMO) the greatest driver to ever sit in a cup car...................and Alan Kulwicki well .........what can you say (he did it his way)

I was only 6 when all that happened in '93 so I can't say I remember it, but I am learning about it all now. It's tragic. I guess I never put thought into what kinda of history the sport has.

Thanks Mike :) I never followed NASCAR before, but it's awesome learning about it. There's sooo much involved.

This is the Bill Elliott CBS camera car that he ran, I believe, at the Hooter's 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway - Elliott won the race but fell short by 10 points to Kulwicki - but I'm sure you all knew that ;)

Wow

Now that is some serious history there. IMO that race (Atlanta 1992)was the end of an era. The King, Richard Petty retired in that race. I also believe Jeff Gordon made his first Winston Cup start and the most successful underdog in the series showed the big dogs how it was done...Sad part is by the end of the next year (1993)we were all crying.

Thanks for all the pictures...I am flashing back big time here.

It was indeed Gordon's first Cup race. It's amazing how much has changed since then. As has happened with most sports, it's just not about the love of the game anymore :-/
