I am planning on using a buggy spring rear end on my build. I’ve heard that a buggy spring is to mounted under tension ( I presume to keep the shackles parallel with the rear axle). Is this true? If so how much? My spring is 38” eye to eye. Do I stretch it to 38.5”- 39” or am I looking at this the wrong way. Thanks for any help with this!! pappy

Shackles?

Does the spring have shackles on both ends like a front spring?
If so, a rule of thumb for a front is that the shackle should be horizontal with NO weight on it and at a 45deg. with the weight of the car.
So measure the mounting holes of the shackles laying lose and horizontal and make that the mounted distance.Understand or is it me that doesn't understand what your doing???
