I found this picture of my uncle , he raced dirt tracks back in the 50`s and early 60`s , he always raced Hudsons because my Dad said they were so heavy the other drivers couldn`t knock him around or block him , he`d just push them out of the way..... he was a tank driver in WWII , thats why the tank on the roof.

Very cool....

Nice photo, "the tank" fits well. '22

I still laugh every time I see your signature line, by the way..... :D

Those lowslung Hudsons handled really well for the tanks that they were. If they were runnin the big Twin H power 6s they had lots of power too.

Thanks for the photos any more pics of vintage race cars. I love them. I grew up watching short track racing and did it for about 12 years in the 80s and 90s.

I grew up in Oriskany Falls N.Y.:D I remember that car, it ran in the late model division and the anouncer called it the Hudson tank. Your Uncle could drive! I can remember many a night he would start the feature in the back of about 20+ cars and be in the lead by lap 3 and not touch a car on the way through!!! The car was a tank, but most times he just drove the wheels off it!!:D

maybe you remember these guys ... Richie Evans , Jerry Cook , Reggie ruggerio , Lou Lazzaro , Jeff Bodine

Y'all bring back some memories from growing up. Not from upstate, grew up on the Island. Home of Charlie Jarzombek, Jim Hendrickson, Al De Angelo amoung others. Also remember, Pete Cory, Don McTavish, "Steady" Eddie Flemkie, and up from Fla, Buzzie & Wayne Ruetemann (sp?). We traveled all over the NE following racing. Favorites were Trenton, NJ & Langhorne, Pa.
