Very nice proportions on that truck. Radiator placement is right on, stance is perfect, cab's just right distance off the ground and the bed length is just right. All in all one nice truck. You done good.

Time to get started on the rear suspension:
First order is business is to remove one leaf from the pack and figure out how I am going to relocate the shocks.

Finally Decided on the location. I bought almost every bracket that Speedway offers. Ended up using some of theirs and making my own.

The LOWER mounts on the rearend are Speedway but they fit a 3" axle mine is 2 and something. So I made 4 brackets to reduce the size that weld to the lower bracket and to the axle. Then I made a bracket that would mount in the Speedway holes. (Normally the holes when you mount a coil-over shock) This bracket turned the shock.

On the Upper mounts I used some heavy wall tubing that I welded through the frame and beefed them up with some Speedway gussets. Came out super stout, I think. .

Some odds and ends:
I did a complete rewire.
Added some Model A tail lights and some motorcycle turn signals.
Added a Turn Signal switch on the column
Relocated my License Plate.
Got rid of the Bowie Knife and went with a piece of ornamental steel with a glass door knob.

ADDITION:
I saw some Velocity Stacks the other day and thought, that would make a cool looking header. I went down to my local exhaust shop and told him I wanted eight 18" 1 3/4 pipe with flared end. He did a great job. The hardest part was cutting off the old ones and welding these on straight. I won't lie to you. If you really look at them you will see that they are a little off, but at 80 mph who cares? What do you think?
I was going for something different than just plain ol' straights.

It looks better, sounds better, and smells better.
The exhaust is out of my face and I can still run my baffles.
It also helps that they are pointed down instead of up.

Heck, right now....

Cool thanks. Everything I have is for sale at any given time.

With my luck right ...I'd wreck it.... waiting for the dust to settle and a short vacation before I start back up with things in my barn.... if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none at all......into each life, a little rain must fall....lol

I hear ya brother.

I said it once, but I say it again, every change you have made is for the better. You are taking a pretty OK truck and really fixing it up well.

Thanks fellas. Around here we have some pretty hardcore hot rodders that just don't get it. You get hit in the WalMart parking lot?, Cool some new character. I also don't see me washing this thing every weekend. Matter a fact, I have never washed it.

Well here's the latest addition. For father's day my wife bought me a repo 32 grill. I know it's a no no, but it's fiberglass. In these days and times I can't buy everything that I want, so I compromised. Doing 85 miles an hour down the road you can't tell anyway. My dad was reworking the church buses A/C and got rid of these aluminum grills. He said, "here's some grills for ratrod." So, I waited for the right time to use them and I did. So here you go::::

Looks good, [cl so it's 'glas, no big deal, spray on some faux rust - most people won't know..... maybe spray some flat black on the front of the rad too, so you don't see it thru the grille.

Well not a lot to report on. Just doing some of the little things. I made a bracket to hold my puke bottle. I am messing around with the idea with the velocity stacks. I don't know if I really like them. I don't like the fact that there is no air filter except the wire mesh. I don't know. What do you think?
