Moving along....

Made some progress...

Relocated the C pillar to the top of the B-pillar.

Cut the center of the rear door out and inserted it into the splice of the front door. Stretching it about 11"

The drivers side is close to 'rough-in' so I think I'll work the back of the car and then the passenger side next weekend.. maybe LOL.:D

Also threw in a panoramic of the back of the car, I think the big back window is going to work out great for rear visibility!

loving this.!!

that B pillar is dead nuts perfect.

I'm getting nostalgic for the 46 Chevy my dad bought right after getting back for WWII.

it was a maroon 2 door C-Dan and it was SHIIIIIIINNNNYYYY like a black cherry. to this day I can remember the smell of the mohair interior.

sitting on that outside ground, you are keeping an eye on a level I hope????

Thanks for the kind words! I had to go for it with the B pillar... I like the result, I have no idea how it's actually going to work because it's two different doors so the door jamb is all jacked up , so I'll more than likely suicide the doors to disguise what I have created, which is a welded mess of mismatched seams,, I'm sure it will come together, I'll post up some pictures of it, maybe you all have some ideas on how to remedy this one.

I do love that black cherry color...

I have a level lying around somewhere...lol

sitting the door post straight up would have been easier, BUT it looks awesome on the angle you got it[cl

Later

Thanks skull!

You are absolutely right! I could have done both doors in a day instead of one lol. I saw the vision in my head of the slanted pillar and went for it.... Time consuming yes, I am liking the results so far. I'm going to post up what the internals of the door and pillar look like so you can see what's really going on, cause I looked at it and was like

Sorry for the Delay

Sorry for the Delay, there has been quite a bit going on, I was planning on getting back on Eli this weekend coming up, but I have hit a bump in the road... or an SUV. I had an impaired driver run a stop sign in front of me, totaling my truck and breaking some parts in my right ankle, so i have Dr.s orders not to use my right let at all.... so looks like it won't be until after the first of the year before I get moving on the project again 6-10 weeks with the a leg boot, a cast if i get worse, then physical therapy after that.

Anyways.. I'll still be on the forum and gathering parts and working up ideas....Just remember to wear your seat belts guys n gals it saved my life again.....

That looks nasty. Thankfully it was just the ankle. Use the rest productively. Get well soon.

Well, look at the bright side, now you have a donor motor and transmission! :D

Hope they had insurance that will pay. Best of luck on the ankle, too.
