I was gone for the last couple of days. I went with my son on a elk hunt. For the gun nuts here, I shoot a 300 Win Mag. And for you hunters, I got a 6X6 bull that scores in the 350 range. And for you people who eat, I got 120 pounds of hamburger, and 100 pounds of steaks. And for all the rest of you, I sure am glad to be back.

NICE RACK!!

You should extend your hunting trip & head to Ohio; maybe bag a giraffe, lion, bear, camel and whatever else is roaming around there today!

Sad story really. Hate to hear about all those exotic animals being put down. I'd hate even more to hear that someone got mauled by one, though.

Why can't you just buy your hamburger from the store so no animals are harmed!? [ddd

Looks good!! [cl Any details on the shot? No clue what a good Elk scores, a 350'ish whitetail would look like a freakin' oak tree.

A 350 elk fair chase, on public lands is really good. (442 is the #1 elk now). I scouted enough to know there were some good elk in a area a week before season. My son and I went out before daylight on the opening day of elk season. We passed up a large 5x5 just before sun up. and worked our way to a large clearing and could see there were already bull elk in the opening. The wind was good, and soon a small group of cows (elk) came into the clearing followed by a large bull. We waited for the bull to get in a better spot, and he was 150 yards out when I dropped him with one very well placed shot.

Welcome back.....

Nice Rack....great hunt I would guess?..... never got into the hunting thing....guess my military hunting spoiled some of that....didn't feel like hunting (or shooting) at much of anything when I got home....but....certainly can appreciate a good bit of meat on the table....nice job Bonehead...[cl

Bob......Santa has Reindeer...not elk....

On Comet On Cupid, On Donner and Blitzen, ect....ect...ect..

Maybe they'd be faster???? You know....bigger...stronger....faster....more Horse....ah...elk power....??[S

OK, now who's gonna pull Santa's sleigh to deliver my Christmas presents???:D

Hate to tell ya Bob, but you probably weren't gonna get that Hemi this year either.

Forgot to tell ya all - last week my wife almost stepped on a rattler while we were camping down in MO. Neither was too happy about it.

Funny, but here is a picture from a few weeks ago on a hiking trip where they scared each other pretty bad. The rattle snake hid under a rock, and was a little camera shy.

Are you sure there's only one??

From the picture, it looks like there are more under those rocks....like a den, or pit or what the heck you call a gaggle of snakes or a crap ton or oh.....whatever...

the scientifical term is a flock of snakes.

To describe a bunch of rattle snakes, I think I would call them an 'Oh **** of Snakes!' :D

Fortunately for us, the rattler we saw seemed still kinda groggy from the morning cold. 3-4 footer and pretty thick. Rare to see them around here. (but then, we were in MO. for that encounter)

Wish we woulda got a pic.

Sorry to take your elk hunting report off topic, Bonehead. Nice shooting.

There's a few rattlers around here on the river bluffs.

Yesterday a rabid salamander walked across my driveway. Not much in the way of scary creatures around here. Just my sister.
