Extending Torsion Stops?

Can anyone help me out with an idea or two on how to extend the length of torsion bars stops? Mine come up about an 1" short of where they need to. I wanted some custom length stops, but was talked into standard ready made stops. I don't know what I was thinking. The chassis was already done to the point that all lengths were set.

Aren't the torsion bars splined? Can't you just index them on the splines?
