Was told the 300 uses the same motor mounts as a 390-428 FE engine, had a 428 in my 55 F100, thats long gone, will the 300 go in with the mount that is there? The mount is tubular goes from side to side on the frame.

lower it down in and see if its close then you will know what you got to do ..I put a 70s I think 289 in a 56 ford custom that had the 223 in it. and it had the 2 hole in the frame mounts , the 289 had 1 stud on the engine mount ,, and it fit right in the bottom holes of the body ..

In the stock ford trucks (67-79 for sure) there were 2 sets of holes in the crossmember to mount the engine towers (as I call them). The towers are the same for the FE motors (332,352,360,390,406,410,427,428) and the big sixes (240, 300)but they used different holes. It seems like the FEs used the rear holes and the sixes used the front ones. The motor mounts should fall right on the towers but you might need to move the towers forward a couple inches due to the length of that 300.
