Does anyone here have a flat head inline six cylinder Ford engine laying around they could measure for me? I am trying to figure if I can easily stuff a 1977 Ford 300 six cylinder into a 46 Ford two door sedan. I know that some of these cars came with inline sixes originally and I am wondering about the length issue. The particular 46 was rodded a few years back and now is engine/trans minus. I have a great running six with a three speed out of an F100 pickp and no where to put it. What I am worried about it having to chop up the firewall or having to do extensive chopping on the front sheet metal. The 300 I have measures 36 inches from fan to the back of the block, are the flat head sixes the same length of smaller?
