Ford F1 for a Chevy guy

Hello. I've been a member here for a few months but haven't posted yet. I been reading and trying to get my ducks in a row for my latest project. Its a 50 F1 that i've slowly bought piece by piece from the owner who parked and stripped it in 1988. Got the cab first then the rest of the body last week and now the frame and running boards today. I originally wanted to go with an s10 frame swap but have decided to go with a jag ifs and an explorer rear on the original frame. Thats where I need some assistance. I know that the 79-86 xj6 is the best but have found an xj12 but not for sure if it will work. Any help if appreciated!

I took some pics today but cant figure out how to resize them to post here. (followed the directions in the help section on this site). Im just not a computer nerd i guess. I can upload to craigslist and ebay no prob. Maybe I will figure it out later.
