Hello folks, new guy from SW Wisconsin. Been lurking awhile, lots of great stuff here.

Not sure if this classifies as a rat so I'll let you decide. Bought it a couple months ago and am working to make it more... mine..
1965 Chrysler New Yorker -- sorry big files hope you have bb

The original door panels were wasted from water damage.. so Ive made my own. Not all that impressive But I didn't want to push my luck for the first time.

it looks better than it is, if I take the aluminum panels off the bottom it gets pretty ratty for sure,.. I have a lot of work to do..

Definitely not a rat even though the kid in your profile pic may have disagreed.:D
Good lookin ol Chrysler, [cl ;) what engine does it have?

The lil guy in my profile pic is my son at a year and a half.. he had been making these angry faces off and on, it took me 2 weeks to finally get a pic of it.. he cracks me up all the time.

the chrysler isnt as old and cool as some of your cars, rust doesnt look as good on it, but it holds the whole family including a car seat. Im not going to flat black it to fit in so I was thinking of just going strange with it.[S

the motor is the 413 which is still running well for 95,000 miles. New edelbrock 4 barrel carb on it though.. Im starting to spit out blue smoke on acceleration so a rebuild is in my future. Maybe this winter if I can get it and the 727 attached to it out of the car.

this is a very fast photoshop chop of what I want it to look like

I love the pic of your son! ;)
I think the land yachts are very cool, the Photoshop rendering is off the hook.[cl
The 413 wedges are a great engine and you will need to have hardened valve seats installed in the heads to run unleaded fuel or it"ll do the same thing again. You know it may only be the heads causin the problem.
You only have to do your thing to fit in on this forum but, when you do you have to start a build thread and post lot a pics so we can see the progress you make. If you haven't been told yet, we like a whole lot of pics here.[dr

I've read some posts from old timers on other boards saying they don't use lead additive and haven't had trouble as long as they aren't drag racing. I've used mystery oil on the fill up before last and in my oil. But now that I think about it I have been standing on it lately that could be my issue. But yeah I'll have to go through those heads for sure. Been surprised by this car, it does pretty well for it size.

Thanks for the warm reception folks I'll try to post many pics, most will probably be of my screw ups.[P
