Hi guys, I'm Daryl from Southern Maine. I am building a 38 Ford truck Rat rod.

Been wanting to do this for many years and have collected parts for a while. Can't believe it's finally happening.

Anyhow, have really enjoyed this forum and will rely on it heavily through the build.

Cheers.

Well lets see.

Caddy 500, th400
2x4 scratch built frame,
reusing off the truck, brake pedal, gas pedal, ebrake, wishbone, horn, -headlights.
Going to fab the bed.
Chop 4"
Have a couple of bus bucket seats.
Shifter handle has to be a s shaped chain.
49 chev truck front drop axle (it was free)
Gotta mod the axle to accept the wishbone and disc brakes(posing my first challenge)
Lincoln Versailles rearend. Thus using coil springs in the rear.
Suicide front end with the spring attached to the wishbone (split of course)
I think Z'ing the front rails will get the truck low enough.
I think also 31x10.50-15 in the rear, haven't decided on the front tire size.

Was going to paint it all flat red. Now I think I'll leave the cab as is (minus some repairs and chopping) and paint the interior, frame, and engine fire engine red.

I am very open to suggestions.

Thanks.

Welcome we're glad to have ya
Looks like you've got a good plan and the Caddy engine is a fantastic engine choice :)
