ok i have a 48 dodge jobrate with a 440 from a 68 road runner the problem is my driverside header is shorter than the other side .its heating up looks like lava .so iv heard a couple maybes why the two diferent headers ?or timing or vacume line? im not much of a machanic i want to fix it my self but i dont know how to find out if or what year my 440 is to buy a book .any help would be geatly appriciated. rusted is busted

Maybe I am missing something. What is heating up?, and what looks like Lava?

The header? the engine? the floorboard? Are we talking about boiled motor oil?

Sorry, but I am pretty thick sometimes.

First thought is to check the timing. I am sure some one will correct me on this, but it is what jumps out at me. Besides one being shorter, is the rest of the system the same. Diameter, length, mufflers, etc?
