made this from goodwill sheets and carcass is made from some cheep hollow core closet doors i had laying around. total cost $7.99 plus $1.40/ft for the chain
I ruffed up the smooth side of the closet door carcass with a belt sander and used 3M multi-purpose spray adhesive. spray both fabric and panel. holds strong so far, i'll let ya know if it fails (I've never used it before).
My old mother did upholstery for a few decades. I just spoke with her and she swears by 3M adhesives. In her opinion, all their products work well but given a choice it would be their 90.
NOT to criticize, there's nothing wrong with your choice tigett. Just passing this along for projects where a stronger bond is desired, headliners for example.
Good for you! Looks great. Very creative recycling. [cl
Nothing beats the feeling of doing it your self. Especialy the interior!
And X's2 on the 3m. "Glue. Strong stuff" in my best Elwood Blues voice.
