My father in law came down for new years, every year he comes down for a few days and helps me get some work done on the house (we live in a 100 year old house ). We just about finished the bathroom re-model, then the washer crapped out so we bought a new washer and figured we might as well re-model that room too if it's empty. Did the floor, trim, walls, the whole bit. Then went back to working on the bathroom and my tired dumb butt just couldn't stop......i ended up putting the drill bit right into my finger :(. Hurts like heck and there's some meat hanging out but at least this time it's a puncture and not a gash-no stiches :D. Anyways, just had to tell you guys, maybe i'll post pics of the re-model later-it's cherry :D

Forget pictures of the remodel- let's see pictures of the finger!:D

Pkryan (on here) almost took the end of his index finger off a few years ago when we were working together at the shop. I had to take him to the ER and I then I stuck around to keep him company and try to distract him from the pain.
We both still laugh when we think of how the doctor came in and after looking at it said, "Well the good news is you get to keep the tip." (That's the good news!!!) At the time that seemed pretty funny- it probably wasn't helped by the fact that she was a pretty attractive young doctor. Now we use that line all the time- often in innappropriate situations...

Glad to hear it isn't anything that serious- sometimes power tools get a pretty serious appetite for human flesh...

Joe, This type of injury is no problem. Simply twist the drill bit back into the wound in the opposite direction that it entered the first time. This will put the meat from your finger back into place. Then wiggle the drill bit out slowly from side to side. Put a band-aid on it and call it a day. :D

That remodeling stuff will kill you. When our kids were little we bought a 100 year old house for $ 9900.00. That will tell you the condition it was in. Over 5 years we moved every wall in the house and remodeled it all.

However, I am not the neatest worker in the world, so when I would sledgehammer a wall down I would be climbing over busted up boards while I worked, and lots of times those boards had rusty nails sticking up through them. Very often I would step on one and of course I am wearing tennis shoes always. Good thing my ex is an RN, got lots of tetnus shots at home after she would use a crow bar to remove the board from the bottom of my foot.:eek:

You would think I would have learned after the first 4 or 5 times, but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. :D

Let's see some pictures of your remodel, bet it turned out nice. Blood, sweat and tears will do that you know. :D

you guys are terrible :D, i'd take a pic but the meat has already started healing up real nice, nothing cool to look at anymore :p. I'll throw some pics up of the laundry room this weekend. My wife was pretty happy (with the room, not my finger:p).
