ok
this is kind of a start over
these are the current condition and plans
318 and 12v conversion
np435 and np200
i am keeping original axles /brakes/wheels etc
i have 5 powerking super traction tires to be mounted
and a heatercraft 40,000BTU heater in the works
i may add A/C in the future
and i plan on adding thick rubber matting to the floors wherever possible to quiet the beast down inside
i will paint the bumpers and undercarriage black with farm implement paint.
i have done it before with a brush and once it is cured its REALLY tough stuff
worked great on my 63 willys cj5 and my 27 chevy pickup
and its like 25 bucks a gallon
i am keepin an eye out for a roof mounted spotlight to replace the missing one

and probably keepin it green

the basic premise is stock but
i have every intention of making it more comfortable and quieter for the occupants

there is a trick i read about that i am going to try
mount the front directional tires backwards
the idea is if you need to back out of something the front has the weight advantage of the engine to help you out
my truck will only be used for icecream runs with the wife and grandson
taking my dogs to the woods
light camping
and going shooting in the country
matter of fact
i want to set up a shooting bench in the back and shoot out in inclement weather

Hummn, I wonder how it will drive like that? I think I'd get a strong winch and a couple of good snatch blocks, that will usually get you out of anything.

I want to get one for my 4WD Ford one of these days. I don't off road all that much, but it would come in handy if I needed it. I have a small one that is power in only that I use to load my trailer with, but with a snatch block it's pretty slow, and without it it's pretty weak.

You should have told them it only cost $2000, no sales tax that way. And then registered it historical, $10 forever and $5 for the transfer.

i had to bring a photo of the data plate that says how much it weighs to the nice lady at the dmv
while i was there i asked if i could get historical plates when it was time to renew
she said yes.

one thing i havent figured out
how to open driver door without climbing halfway out the window to undo the spare tire latch

trailering it home from the tranny shop
i have a tank half full of bad gas
going to siphon it out and dump some heat or stabil in there
pull the 318s carter carb and clean/rebuild (it floods badly)
and maybe hear it run for the first time

my new carb should be here today
and the tires tomorrow!
the heater supposed to be here thursday[cl
i love the big brown truck of happiness

the powerkings are period correct and they are kickass tires. not too expensive either $178 each

the rusty gas tank and carb issues are irritating but
. in reality all the really hard stuff has already been done. engine swap comes to mind.

been fairly busy getting things sorted out
old vehicles HATE not being used regular
all sorts of weird crap pops up
the willys was the same way
use it all the time and it works like a top
ignore it for a few months and get ready to get yer hands dirty
doesnt help that is has been between -10f and +16f lately
no garage

i have used a 28000 one in my willys and could drive around in zero degrees with the window all the way open
these items are a bit pricey at $400
but i only need to buy it once
4 year warranty
