It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory.
George S. Patton

wanted to share a "soldier of soldiers" perspective, larry and thanks to you all who serve or have served

God bless

people died so i could have the opportunity to believe what i want (no matter how hairbrained)
and to ensure the right to pursue happiness.

There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends
Thank you! God bless America! May she always know and remember! The price thats been paid!

All the Veterans and Current Military are in my prayers
every single night. Especially my Uncle who was captured
on April 9, 1942 and became part of the horrible Bataan
Death March. Here is a poem that he wrote later about
his experiences.

I didn't see my Mother or Dad
For forty eight months of my life,
And most of the ladies that I had known
Had become somone eles's wife.

I didn't go to a picture show,
Or have a beer at a local bar.
I didn't fly in an airplane,
Or ride in a brand new car.

There were many days that I never smiled,
And never, never laughed out loud.
There were many days I could have cried,
For I never once felt proud.

I never got a medal for some brave act
Like a charge up some foreign hill.
I never felt like a soldier should.
And I guess I never will.

I never got one kind word
From folks in that land so far.
I never got much that was any good
You see-I was a PRISONER OF WAR

Warren Barret Robertson

WR that was a very moving piece of poetry, has it ever been published? -if not it needs to be, perhaps on a POW monument somewhere...
