Have explorer/mountaineer 8.8 rear end with a 4 bar triangulated setup with coil over shocks. Do I need the equalizer bar too? Front, rear, or both?

If you mean "Swaybar", alot depends on the car you're building. Sway bars will benefit a heavy car [over 2500 lbs] with IFS. If you're building a light rat rod like a bobber you probably won't benefit much by using the swaybar.
Give us more details about your project including pictures, we like pictures...:D

Thanks for responding, I am building a 20's t bucket with pickup bed in fiberglass. I am using a 255 merc flattie and merco-matic trannie. hope to be under 2,000 lbs. Have frame made except for all the brackets. Will have to wait till my grand daughter comes to post pics as she is the photographer and computer whiz in the family. [;)[cl
