well as the post states i want to see your subfloors you built and how you tied it into your bodies in the model a's thanks

well i checked them out i still done understand how and where they tie them into the body its self what i was thinking of doing channeling my body any ways so. i was going to use 1" square tubing and build a new floor have you seen any one do this if so please post pics of where you tied into the inner structure thanks

I welded four 2x2 posts onto the original subframe about 2" high on each side then I ran 1x2x.125 tubing along the tops of the posts to give you the main side frames. I connected the two sides with 1x2 cross braces which are later cut for the driveshaft to go through once you get your tunnel loops welded in.
I then boxed the main pillers with some 1/8" steel and connected the subfloor to these. At the rear I used the main cross brace under the window and welded in another piece of 1x2. More cross braces were added as needed to give it a solid structure and something to weld the sheetmetal to.
The cowl was the hardest part to figure out so I kinda copied Dons idea by welding a steel plate to it and connecting everything to the plate. I closed off the front welding everything together to make it solid. It just kind of makes sense once you start doing it and you can see what you need to do.
To mount to the frame I just drilled holes into the subframe through the chassis frame and welded some large grade 8 bolts to the chassis frame.

I'll post the pictures I got, if you need more let me know.

Here's some more. The first picture was out of my Model T but shows the drive shaft loops I made by cutting every inch and bending it around to get the loop, then the fun part of welding all those cuts back together. I also forgot to mention once the new sub floor is built you can then just cut out the original cross braces.

I guess you are talking about a channeled body, otherwise you would simply use the stock or reproduction subframe kit.

Here is how we channeled my Son's model A RPU. We had some 4 foot lengths of flat steel bent up into sort of a "7" shape, and used that as the two main side rails, then tied those together with 1 x 2 stock. Rather than repost all the pictures of the procedure again, here is where that portion of his build begins: Start at post 117 on the page that will open.

sub frame

Here is mine. To connect the sub frame to the body I used 3/16" plate steel. In one of the pictures you can see how I did it up front. I welded some plates to the interior section of the body and welded plates to the sub frame then weld the two together when everything is all straight. Some people will weld the body to the sub frame in sections but that is only like 18 gauge panels welded to it so I like the 3/16 plate being much stronger with good welds it wont go anywhere.
