I've always wanted to build a roadster so I finally broke down and started one. I found a model a cowl and rear piece on craigslist, built a 2x4 1/8 wall frame and now I'm gathering the rest. The front axle is off a 33 dodge, its set up for Vega steering but I am going to to cowl steering, the engine is a 81a flatty that will be punched out to 239ci. Still looking for rear end and transmission but here's everything all piled together to look like a car.

Let me know what you think

What I started with

The frame the front z has been changed since

Test fit the flatty length, why the zd front changed

Found some 16x4 artillery wheels for $20 each. I think they're off a desoto 5x4.5 bolts

Looks like it will fit

I laid the windshield back about 4in at the top not sure if I wanna chop it yet. That's a roof vent off a postal jeep for my cowl vent

More to come I'll keep this updated as I go

Got to work on the frame a bit this am. Originally I had planned to put a 302 in it but when I settled on the flatty the cross member was too close to allow for radiator room. I made up some new rails and tapered them down to 3" for the cross member.
You can see the old piece on top. Now I have room for the radiator and it looks better

Its been a while since I updated and a lot has happened. The 81a had a rust hole in the block the size of a quarter so I picked up an 8ba at a local swap meet. Built some headers found a off t5 adapter on epay picked up an s10 trans and a fox body rear end, and got a couple fat white walls. Here's some pics

To bad the first block had a hole in it.
I like it.
Are you going to cut a 45 deg. angle on the bottom part of the frame, the same as the upper, at the z or leave it straight ?
It would look better 45'd. Just my 2 cents
