Its a 192? republic truck. Republic was made from 1913 to 1929. This thing is in amazing shape for sitting in the woods for who knows how long. (no I didn't take it I bought it) The hand crank was in the truck with some pretty old cool tools and a jack. Guess what happened when I tried to turn it over by hand....It turned over. I can't believe this thing is that old and I can still turn it by hand, amazing. Its missing the headlights so if anyone has an extra set of headlights for one of these let me know.:D This one will probably sit in the shop for awhile as I have a '37 dodge pickup I need to finish first. Anyone have any pics of these trucks?

Wow, that truck is nice! Are you going to restore it to original specs? I would if it were mine.

Best of luck with this build! :)

I would like to. The trouble is finding the original specs, or parts. I've been searching but haven't found much. I'll keep looking. I'll post some more pics when I get a chance.

That's a really neat truck. You could probably use generic headlights off of something else and they would look right at home on the Republic. I looked up some photos and many of the examples didn't have any headlights at all.

I hope you didn't pay any more than 895.00 for that old truck. You could have bought a new one for that :D

It looks like it has the acetylene headlights/lanterns next to the windshield posts.

The truck pictured in the ad does but I looked up some examples on Google that had nothing. Those models were probably were only used in the daytime. One that I found had a headlight bar attached to the front of the grille.

cool truck.

i wonder what it would take to fire it up? only if the rings were good i bet it would go.

I'm at a loss as to if I would rod it or restore it. If it were a rod then 99% of people would just assume it was a T. Restored it would blow peoples minds due to the rarity of it.

More pics as promised. Hollywood -- those are steel rims and a little rusted from sitting so long. Gastrick -- The ones I've seen don't have headlights either but they have all looked older than this one. It does have mounting holes on the side of the radiator I assume are for lights.

hey 51! you had better remember........

"overloading or overspeeding will void the warranty" :D:D

and you might want to consider turning that steering wheel in on a warranty claim.....it might need a little attention[;):D

i love that thing--but i don't know if i'd rod it--i'd prob do a "low-buck resto" just get it running/going, but whatever you do we expect to see it posted[P

It is in amazing condition for its age and neglect. I think I have decided on my pick. Restore/get it running stock. My $.02

very cool.. i love these big old trucks... If it were mine i would probably restore it... its so old and primitive.. you wont need the speed/ HP and low stance to give you that white knuckle experience.. you will get it at low speeds!

I know where an old chain drive mack truck is... with the solid rubber vulcanized to the rims... maybe someday i can save it... its just so big

Hah! Rat Rodders recommending restoring something???

Don't you know we are the people that ruin vintage tin for the real rodders and restorers. Just ask 'em.[ddd

RRR has it all: Ratters, Rodders, Kustoms and Restorers. Ya gotta love it![cl
