Brings back memories

I had a lot of rat bikes as a kid - I had my own little bicycle junkyard. One memorable bike was a 24" frame (odd at the time) with 20" wheels - a low rider bike! The faded red paint was losing a battle with rust, and I liked it that way. Wish I had pictures of those bikes...

this thread inspires me to do something with this old bike i have. its a red klinedinst brand bike made here in york pa. very rare i'm told. it needs a good cleaning, greasing, and some new whitewalls i think.

Hanging up in our shop is a circa 1950 Schwinn bicycle built for two. My GF and I used to ride it every Monday. Son of a gun is like 3 times as heavy as a modern bike, and pretty cool looking. Maybe I'll turn it into a chopper bike built for two.......that would be different!! :D:D

You can just see it in the top of the picture below.

I love the look of these bikes. I found a couple of old Schwinns behind the garage when I bought my new house. Looks like I'm gonna start buildin one of these too. Anyone know of any websites with parts, whitewall tires, seats, etc?

Ever since this thread started, I have been getting in to these bikes. I've been buying all kinds of frames and parts and whole bikes from friends and I'm starting to get a pretty good collection going. Time to start building. Here's one I picked up yesterday.....
