I have a pair of front radius rods i wanna use in back. Would it be necessary to brace the upper and lower bars together if I was to use them in the rear suspension?

My guess is this is a hairpin setup, so I'll go out on a limb and assume this, and that you would be looking at like a ladder style setup by adding in the extra bars from upper to lower?

Thats correct.

These are the radius rods I have in the pic. They are 7/8" OD and tapped for 5/8" rod ends.

I was thinking of welding a steel plate between the bars.
Should it be connected near midpoint?
Could they just be gusseted where the bars come together?

Those will work for you. Weld your support in after all of your adjusting is done. You can't change the centers on them after they have the support welded in.

no gusset needed, just connect the two in the middle like dat down there
