hello all,

i decided to get rid of the junk 53 chevy rear i had in my 53 chevy and decided to get a more modern rear for it. i ended up getting a chevy 12 bolt rear that i believe came out of a truck. lucky for me both the rears where on 42.5 inch centers so it was an easy swap.

problme is that the new rear is spring over axle and the old rear was spring under axle. so i ended up reversing the order of my leaf springs and putting a lowering block over the axle. any other way i can get a lower stance that doesnt cost a whole lot of money

i just recently had a little boy so moneys kinda tight

Thanks

Wouldn't a lowering block actually be a lift block now that the springs are above the axle? I agree, carefully remove the spring pads and move them to the bottom of the axle to put the axle above the springs again.
