Looks like today the weather is in my favor to squirt some paint!

I plan on shooting the frame today in a RUSTOLEUM SEMI-GLOSS BLACK.

I will be dusting off the ol' DEVILBIS siphon feed gun.

How much should I REDUCE the paint?? The can only says to thin using ACETONE...but no ratio!

Would my 1.8 tip be to big??? The gun is 20 years old...not even sure if I could find tips for it.

What pressure should this paint be shot at?

Any input would be great!!

Thanks!

I would say, try out a few test pieces first to get a good fan of paint, or to get the fan you want....As far as reducer, I have no clue what so ever.

This is what I do when spraying Rustoleum but I'm sure others will have different ideas cuz painting is like dicussing politics, lots of opinions.
I thin about 30% Acetone [acetone only] and about 40 lbs pressure. Your 1.8 nozzle should work well. Frames tend to be very dirty so cleaning real good is important. I have used gloss hardener with Rustoleum but it is expensive and you must test any brand with Rustoleum cuz some will not mix. Good luck!
