So it looks like cast iron, or as least solid iron. If it is cast, why didn't they cast it closer to the finished product? If it is solid steel, and was cut with a flame cutter, then it is an amazing amount of grinding. More than I want to do, for sure. Turned out cool. Do you know what the story is here?

There's a huge chopper scene in Thailand and Malaysia. These guys turn out some incredibly radical stuff using little more than hand tools and dirt floors. They bend tube round car wheels, hacksaw through miles of steel, yet produce amazing bikes.

The forks in the pics were profile cut from solid steel, then all the work as you see: by angle grinding.

Very interesting designs, but some of that stick welding on that frame looked real scary to me.

I noticed that, even just tacks, but you'd think they'd be better than that.

Mind you, most welders in the orient use sunglasses and just do tack after longish tack, closing their eyes each time, so no precision going on there. [S
