Its a pretty specialized question.

What do I do?

I'm chopping up the stock frame to do a Z front and rear on my 52 F1.

As you know, the steering column and box on the F1 is one piece.

I was wondering if anyone has Z'ed the stock frame and if so what did they do for steering? I'm keeping the stock parralel leaf setup.

Toyota box? Saginaw? Some sort of car donor? Rack and pinion?

Looking for CHEAP. Junkyard donor.

Cut the steering shaft and machine or grind a double 'D' into it,use a steering joint.Would need to get a couple of bearings for inside the column but shouldn't be that hard.
This keeps the original box in it's original location so shouldn't need any other modifications.

Can cut the shaft like EnglishBob said ,and could also swap for a newer column and use a steering joint.

Good idea bob, thanks! I work at a wrecking yard so I can easily find some sort of donor. I diddnt want to change the box location and have a screwey steering angle. Adding a ujoint would fix the column location problem.
