A couple of rodders and i were talking about taildraggers the other day. The question is when and where did it start? I know it was before 1961
The 1952 Chevy i had in 68 was. Simple to do, just heat and bend the rear springs. Put riser in the front coils. Or haul a big rock as some did.

I'd say late 30's early 40's.

Yeah, I have 1950 issues of Hopup and there were plenty by then. Never much cared for them because they were generally not hotrods, like many had original flathead 6 engines ect.

Started sometime in the 30's 40's from west coast Chicanos. Remember reading an article about it. Used to put bags of sand or concrete in the trunk to drag tail when Sunday cruising.
