Ok, i have a min while my valve covers are drying, so here are the pics of the volvos. Give me all of your opinions, every single one. I've got enough parts here for one hot-rod and one nice stock volvo 544. I think i'm going to make one nice and sell it even they don't seem to fetch much. I don't plan to spend much as i have most everything between three cars for a nice stocker. Which one should i build into a rod though? The black one is a 59, body is perfect, almost no rust and it has decent paint. It would make a nicer rod but wouldn't need as much as the others for resale as stock. So i'm leaning towards using the white one in my avatar. the structual rust isn't bad from what i can tell, just surface. I think it looks mean as hell but i can't decide which way to go. so give me your opinions. rusty white one? black one, or red one? that reminds me, we got the red running in about three hours. thanks guys.

My opinion is this. If I were building a rod, I would use the best body I had in my possession for that project. If you ever plan on finishing the car nicely, I believe that you will thank yourself later. If you just don't care about rust and are intent on leaving the rod in it's current state of patina when finished, then I would probably use the white one for the rod project and get max cash on the sale of the nicest car. But I'll repeat, if it were me making the decision, I'd keep the best body for myself.

My thoughts are to fix and sell the one with the best body and make a rod/sled with what you have left over.

That is just my thoughts..

i naturally lean towards the nicer body as you say gas trick, i'm thinking along the lines that i wont keep these forever though. i need some cash for my projects so selling the better one should help, then i can run around in the rat for awhile, sell it, and do another. any other ideas or opinions are welcome, thanks.

I like all of them. Just based on outside appearance, The Black one or the white one has the better "rat" look. The Red one looks like a restorable type car. I am with Gastrick about keeping the best one for yourself tho. So you get a little less $, you save yourself some time and end up with a solid ride.

Rat it out!

Joe,
If u're gonna sell one for the $$$... I say rat one out & sell it on daBay. It's crazzy what anything called a rat is bringin' there & I think the 544 would look good ratted out! Er... red wheels & chrome babies! I'd take all the Volvo markers off the body & it would freak people out cause i don't think many people r familiar with that body style & won't b able to figure out what it is!
