Thingamajig

Found this years ago helping someone clean out an old garage. I was cleaning up mine today to make room for my frame when I ran across it. No one knows what it is, so I thought I would give you guys a shot at identifying it. Any ideas?

That's not a thingamajig. It's a hellifiknow. It's a lathe of some sort. Probably for one specific purpose and item that hasn't been used for 50 years. Cool find. I'd clean it up and put it out somewhere. Somebody, somewhere would just love to buy it.

So what's stamped on the side where the motor(?) is attached? Is that a motor? What's the dataplate say?

Looks like the plate on the motor says SNAP-ON TOOL CORP

It's a combination meat slicer and valve grinder. The inventor was famous for his inventions that did two things at one time. His meat slicer/valve grinder never found an audience, but who doesn't have one of his famous "sunhat/tissue dispensers" in their home? We have several.

I think its a cicular saw blade sharpener but cant find any proof.LOL

Don, kinda thought it might be a valve grinder myself. I had to modify my tissue dispenser to hold my "two can beer dispenser".

Gastrick, you are so right. I scraped away a little paint and the motor does say Snap-On 110 volt AC/DC. My brother is a Snap-On junkie better hide this thing now
