To use or not to use?

I being new here have wondered why alot of beds on trucks are made with not enough room to haul anything and with rear suspensions with huge travel? Since I'm just starting mine I want the best of both worlds, any ideas?

I have about 2 inches of up travel, and I CAN haul in mine.

I have 5 in right now, but just bare frame still. Want enough room to still haul parts. Maybe it's a mid-westeren thing?

Don't have any pics but I've got about 2 1/2" up-travel with 9" depth. Its a 46 Ford 4" off the ground 4x4 foot bed beer keg gas tank in bed (old style) still have plenty of room.

I guess when I get done mine can haul a 12 pack but then again I have 4 other p/u,s I just need a good beer hauler
