DUDES... I got a *very* unusual e-mail yesterday! Uship sent a semi threatening message saying they wanted us remove any & all links to their company or they would report RRR as a spammer to Google! This is one of the craziest requests I think we've ever had.

So please... don't mention them or post a link to them recommending them to our fellow rodders as I have blocked being able to post that link.

I find it pretty unusual that a company would want to bite the hand that feeds it but I think that kinda shows what type of people you'd be dealing with.

Maybe theyre "traditional" movers:rolleyes: Sorry, couldn't resist. That really does seem odd that a company would give up advertising and go about it that way

Mr. Tripper,
Sounds like a smoke screen to me! This is probably more to the point...

That was the first thing that popped into my mind! Good job digging that thread up. I wonder if the HAMB got a similar notice? I'm sure that would go over there well.

But then, isn't Uship just a broker? Maybe it's just a bot mining?

What happened to our right to free speech ? As far as slander or libel, the absolute defense is if the comments being made are true. If I say I had a bad experience with a company or person, and if that is true, there is nothing that can be done against me.

They are huffing and puffing, Bob. Maybe if they spent as much energy cleaning up their deliveries they would not be in the position of people posting unkind comments toward them.

nail on the head...

Like has been said before, if "Company X" didn't suck so bad, they wouldn't be getting the bad press. Tell them to go pound sand :D

If you think about it, Bob, forums like the HAMB have threads all the time where someone posts a bad experience they have had with some company. There are also review sites where people post good AND bad reviews and nothing happens to them either. This is how we tell our friends about good and bad experiences we have had so they can make an intelligent decision.

Company X is blowing smoke, and trying to scare us off. We ARE entitled to our opinions about things and ARE protected by free speech, so they need to worry more about how they can do a better job and stop trying to muscle us little guys. The reason they get bad reviews is because they do not do a good job for the customers who are giving that feedback. And that has been going on forever.

But because we like you and don't want you to stress over this thing, we will of course do what you have asked and stop using their name directly. But if it were me, I would contact Google myself and tell them I am being needlessly threatened and put the ball in Company X's court.

Did they say and mean links like "http:www.happydance.com" or did they say mentions like "Company X".

Links is a technical term.

I just had two men come to my door and warn me I shouldn't post on this thread again. They looked serious, so I'm not gonna!

Funny that these people would go around threatening people.....Everyone knows that just makes people talk about them more......Maybe they are just upset because that Roy guy on the shipping show died....maybe he was the brains of the outfit
