I think we have come a long way in safety technology since the early days of motorsports. Some of the crashes look worse than motorcycle crashes. It's funny to see the drivers shoot out of the cars like rag dolls. Enjoy!

Ouch! I've been in some crashes in my day and it makes me glad we have rollcages now. Those guys were nuts back then. Of course that was in the days when sex was safe and racin was dangerous. Like a local legend around here once said "when they put cages on them cars it made some tough SOB's outta some modiocre drivers". We lost alot of talanted racers around here back in the day.

Yup, I'm feelin' pretty mediocre right about now. Some of 'em popped right back up after gettin dumped, but I'll bet they were feeling it in the morning!

I'm glad I had a roll cage, aluminum seat with side bolsters and a 5 point harness. I did get beat around racing stock cars but I broke my ribs racing go karts.

I know how that feels! It's not very much fun. I was rear ended in my 72 Volkswagon Squareback by a drunk in a 72 Dodge Charger doing 100 mph once. We flipped end over end and then rolled 7 times before coming to a stop upside down. Really lucky we weren't thrown out of it or worse. That wreck was a blessing in disguise however - the settlement bought our first house.
