What size pipe to use across on model a frame?

Im building a 46 chev rat rod on a model a frame but im not sure what size pipe to use to go across the front if any of you know let me know your help is much appreciated thanks

What size do you want to use?
WHat size would look good there?

I have seen a lot of guys use 2 7/8, or 3 inch there. That is those larger size you see in there sometimes. I have also seen 2 inch and even 1 3/4. those are the small sizes some guys use.

I used 2 1/2 inch looks great

I use 2.5 sch. 40 which ends up to a hair shy of 3 inch OD

It also depends on whether you are going to use a suicide front spring mount on the crossmember - larger size if you are - smaller looks tidier if you aren't.
