thats true now that i think about, there is a ghetto razz little un-incorporated town about 10 minutes away from visalia. i can always find good cheap projects from the 50's through the 90's.

Well, we live in an apt, so no back yard there... BUT in the parkinglot of my shop I have alot of cool junk (oldest to newest)
52chevy Pu,
62 Dodge powerwagon (customers project)
72 Fj40 half parted out junk,
73Fj40 half parted out rust bucket,
86 toyota pu rock crawler on 38in tires,
88chevy pu mow truck,
84 Chevy C60 14yd dumper,
97 F350 powerstroke (tow rig, worktruck)
machine trailer/car hauler,
landscape maint trailer,
873 Bobcat w/attahcments

and the list goes on... My landloard loves me. :p

I was inspired by this thread to go do a little hunting to see whats in my back yard.....

So I drove for about 30 minutes and came upon a junkyard. He had a pretty solid lookin Ford truck out front so I stopped in to check it out. The guy has everything for it but the tires. He's asking 1500 for it, but he's negotiable.....

After I talk to him for a few he takes me inside to show me the rest of the parts. While we're looking around, I spotted an old grill shell leaning on the wall....

I asked him if it was for sale. He said no it wasn't for sale, but I could take it if I wanted to! So after about an hour sittin around talkin to this guy he tells me about an old International down the road......

After finding the owner of the truck, he tells me he needs it gone and he'd take 4 or 500 for it. (I might be back for that one) So I tell him what I'm out doing and he says,"You gotta swing by my buddy's place. It's only about 20 minutes away and its worth the trip..........

So, after about a 20 minute drive, I find his buddy's place. A really nice guy who has a TON of cool stuff just lyin around. Everything is for sale. He has about 60 cars on his lot and he says he has another lot down the road with about 100 more that he can't fit down here. Here's what he has at the shop.....

Tons of cool stuff! The guy was really nice, but he was on his way out. I'm gonna head back down there this weekend and take some more pics!
Needless to say, yesterday was a pretty fun day.

hotrodron it looks like you hit paydirt. In my parts those 2 old pickups would be waaay overpriced though, unless they were capable of moving undertheir own power of course.
Now how are you going to get the car you want off the back row.:D:D

That is the one I want too! Actually, there is a driveway right behind the back row and would you believe most of the cars run!? Its an old Hudson. He says people stop in every day asking him what he wants for the old Merc out back! :D

RON! I love these kind of pictures and stories. I already have "Projects til the day I die", in my back yard, but I figure if I gather enough projects, I can put off the ultimate dead end.

thats awesome ron, it looks like you plenty to choose from. I'm always looking but at the same time sometimes i try not to look. So many good projects out there, so little time.

Aside from the 16' storage shed..........my 66 chev. II C-dan seems to have found a home in the back yard (awaiting the short roll to the garage....
