who got 8k for buying a house?

ok so a few people i knew bought a house and went for that tax break on their taxes. well they got audited and the IRS is reviewing this and last years taxes. and they might not got all the 8k back. gotta love the government. any one else have this happen to them?

I got no cash back but i did spend like 9200 on intrest on my house,harsh I don't like that once i see it on the screen
