Width of Wishbones? Please

Can someone tell me the approximate (or exact) height and width of an original wishbone? I'm not really concerned about the exact year. I'm trying to make something similar for myself from boxed tubing.

Do you mean the height and width of the tubing or the overall width and length of the entire wishbone? That's going to vary a bit by year as you indicated.

The height and width of the tubing. I just want to make sure I'm in the ballpark with what I choose.

I used rear wishbones for my fronts. Longer, maybe heavier and a real nice taper.

Okay. I'll get you a measurement in the morning if nobody beats me to it but I can tell you the tubing tapers and is bigger at the front.

here you go

I have 2 types longer and bigger is the later 40's front
cut off 45" long 1-1/4 thick 2-1/4 tapered to 1-1/2" with axle boss of 2-1/4"

older 40" front cut off 33-1/2" long 1" thick 2-1/4" tall tapered to 1-1/2" with axle boss of 2-1/4"

Speedway makes a kit for a bung and swivel ends for these wish bones.
